After 2 nights in Broome transfer to the Orion Expedition Cruise Ship and begin your 10 day adventure in the remote and stunning Kimberley coastal region of North West Australia. Then spend 2 nights at Bamurru Plains, before boarding the iconic Ghan train for a 2 night rail journey of a lifetime from Darwin to Adelaide. 2 nights at the Sebel Playford is followed by a short flight to Kangaroo Island and 2 nights at the unique Southern Ocean Lodge.

Day 1 & 2 - Broome Spend 2 days exploring the laid back Pearling town of Broome with its 14 mile long pearly white Cable Beach perfect for a camel ride at sunset. Take a scenic flight to the Buccaneer archipelago or into the remote western Kimberley gorges. Day 3–12 – Orion Cruise This 10 night cruise will take you to the dramatic contrasts of Australia’s north-west, rich in Aboriginal culture and galleries of ancient artwork. Rugged gorges, inlets, waterfalls plunging 100 metres all combine for an awe-inspiring experience you simply can’t have by travelling overland.

The cruise starts in Broome (or Darwin if taking the reverse itinerary) with 2 nights on the ship before heading up to Cape Leveque and the Lacepedes, you’ll see the Horizontal Waterfalls and Montgomery Reef. Cruising along the coast there are opportunities to see the spectacular and famous Mitchell and King George Falls with the option of scenic helicopter flights over the falls. The cruise ends in Darwin where on arrival you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight to Bamurru Plains. Day 13 & 14 - Bamurru Plains A couple of days is the perfect duration to immerse yourself in the remote setting of Bamurru Plains. The floodplains of the Mary River are home to thousands of Magpie Geese, Plumed Whistling-Duck, Egrets, Ibis and a host of other birds and the land surrounding the camp is host to animals such as Wallaroos, Dingos, Estuarine Crocodiles, wild pigs and buffalo. You’ll spend your time exploring by 4WD, river cruises and airboat to see the best on offer with the rest of your time yours to relax in the luxury camp environment. Day 15 & 16 - The Ghan Transfer back to Darwin and board the Ghan for your 3 day 2 night journey through the heart of the outback. You’ll have opportunities to enjoy off train excursions in Katherine Gorge and Alice Springs en route. Day 17 & 18 - Adelaide Enjoy 2 days exploring the south city of Adelaide spending your 2 nights at the Sebel Playford. Adelaide is gateway to some of Australia’s most famous wine regions including the Barossa and Claire Valley, perfect for a day trip from the city. Closer to home Adelaide has wonderful festivals and parkland and is home to one of the best food markets, well worth a visit. Day 19 & 20 - Southern Ocean Lodge Fly from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island for 2 days of pure indulgence at the luxurious Southern Ocean Lodge, the perfect base to explore the island, home to an abundant population of Koalas, Kangaroos, emus, possums, penguins, seals and sealions and birdlife from cockatoos to ospreys. Day 21 - Fly back to Adelaide for your onward flight
